VISION AND VALUES

Sea to Sky Athletics is a club committed to developing athletes in pursuit of achieving their greatest potential, without limits to their age or ability.  The club will maintain a high community profile and demonstrate the highest principles of integrity and fair play in sport.

The club was newly formed by a few local parents whose vision is to provide affordable, high quality coaching to kids right here in our backyard.  Registered with BC Athletics, KidSport Squamish, and operating on the founding principles of TrueSport and Club Excellence, the club offers training in track and field, cross country, and multi-sport conditioning and cross training.

Dave Melanson has been operating and coaching with Sea to Sky Athletics since 2015. Raised on Salt Spring Island, Dave grew up learning to appreciate the unique challenges found in our local terrain. His range of clients includes everyone: kids to adults, beginners to pros, runners to lifters.

Emalee Vandermale

Coming to the Sea to Sky from the Comox Valley, Emalee has been involved in outdoor activities since she could walk. From soccer in the fall and cross-country skiing in the winter, to track and field in the spring and summer, Emalee has had the opportunity to compete in sport year-round at the provincial and national levels. She specialized in javelin with the help of her coach, Graham Morfitt, and continues to play with strength and endurance in skiing, biking, kayaking, and running. Now located in Pemberton, Emalee looks forward to introducing more locals to the fun and opportunities of track and field.

Adrienne Gomes

Adrienne is a student at Quest University and an elite runner, member of Team Canada at the 2017 World Mountain Running Championships, and Fast & Female Athlete Ambassador. She is passionate about sharing the sport she loves with others, inspiring kids to make movement a part of their everyday lives, and promoting long-term involvement in sport

Lianne Burrell

Lianne lives in Squamish where she works as a Kinesiologist/personal trainer. She ran cross country and middle distance track & field in the Maritimes where she grew up. As well as being an athlete, she coached youth track & soccer. Currently (if not running), she will be out in the mountains either climbing or splitboarding.

She is most excited to pass along the joy and skills of lifelong sport to Squamish youth, and to be a positive mentor as many of her previous coaches were.

Kye Fedor

Kye has a true passion for athletics. She started training with her local athletics club when she was just 8 years old. She fell in love with the sport and the feeling of working hard at something. During Kyes competitive life she achieved ranks in BC, Canada and in the NCAA. She was a heptathlete for SFUs varsity team but specialized in hurdles, long jump and triple jump.

Kye has spent many years coaching for NorWesters and her old high school team. Growing up with supportive dedicated coaches allowed her to push her limits and achieve personal success. Some of her fondest memories are those to do with track and field. She hopes to instill the same love, passion and drive she felt growing up with her athletes.
